Stash

stash

Hide windows on the edge of the screen and unhide them by moving the cursor to the screen edge where the window was hidden.

This concept came from an excellent app called Tuck by Irradiated Software.

stash stash
  • Stash Left, Stash Right, Stash Up, Stash Down, Unstash
  • Stash All, Stash All Except One, Cycle All Stashed, Toggle All Stashed, Unstash All
  • Show a stashed window…
    • Immediately or between 0.1 and 1.0 seconds after the cursor hits the screen edge.
    • Only if holding Command ⌘
  • Hide a stashed window…
    • Immediately or between 0.1 and 1.0 seconds after the cursor hits the screen edge.
    • When the cursor leaves the window area
    • Only if holding Command ⌘
  • Unhide a window…
    • When the app becomes frontmost
  • Unstash a window…
    • When moved clear of the screen edge
    • When any other action is performed on it
  • All stash actions…
    • Animate window movement: without this selected, windows will instantly be moved to their stash locations.
    • Hide stashed windows in the corner if left visible: If you don’t have this enabled, then:
      • Stashing windows on the border between two displays can move a window onto the next display, so this functionality is best for display edges not adjacent to other displays.
      • Stashing windows to the edge where the Dock is visible will leave a little bit of the window sticking out.
      • Stashing windows down will also leave a little bit of the window sticking out.
      • Stashing windows up only works with a few windows in applications that ignore the menu bar.

Enable color tabs to display a tab corresponding to each stashed window.

This makes it easier to have multiple stashed windows on each side where only one window will be shown or hidden when the cursor is on the screen edge of a tab.

The colors are chosen at random at the time of stashing a window.
